On 12 March 2019, Ambassador Cherdkiat Atthakor delivered the statement on the behalf of the Royal Thai Government at the Fourth Session of the United Nations Environment Assembly (UNEA4) which was organized at the United Nations Office at Nairobi. The Assembly was held under the theme "Innovative solutions for environmental challenges and sustainable consumption and production". In his speech, Ambassador Atthakor highlighted Thailand's action in promoting sustainable consumption and production, addressing the issue of plastic waste, and supporting the development of green innovation and technology. He also highlights the role of Thailand, as the Chair of ASEAN in 2019, in addressing this area, including by hosting the Special ASEAN Special Ministerial Meeting on Marine Debris on 5 March 2019.

          เมื่อวันที่ 12 มีนาคม 2562 นายเชิดเกียรติ อัตถากร เอกอัครราชทูตฯ ได้กล่าวถ้อยแถลงในฐานะหัวหน้าคณะผู้แทนไทยในการประชุมสมัชชาสิ่งแวดล้อมแห่งสหประชาชาติสมัยที่ 4 (UNEA4) ณ สำนักงานสหประชาชาติกรุงไนโรบี ซึ่งจัดขึ้นภายใต้หัวข้อ "Innovative solutions for environmental challenges and sustainable consumption and production" ในการนี้ เอกอัครราชทูตฯ ได้กล่าวถึงบทบาทของไทยในการส่งเสริมการผลิตและการบริโภคอย่างยั่งยืน การจัดการปัญหาขยะพลาสติก การพัฒนาเทคโนโลยีที่เป็นมิตรต่อสิ่งแวดล้อม รวมทั้งบทบาทของไทยในฐานะประธานอาเซียนในปี 2562 ซึ่งได้เป็นเจ้าภาพจัดการประชุม Special ASEAN Ministerial Meeting on Marine Debris เมื่อวันที่ 5 มีนาคม 2562
